Hear from emcee, Bud Namek, the coaches and Dan’s brother, Jim Fitzgerald, Sr from the Fitz Tournament Banquet Night:

More on the keynote speaker – Jim Fitzgerald, Sr.:

We are excited to have Dan’s brother, Jim Fitzgerald, Sr, as our featured banquet speaker this year.

Like Dan, Jim has been a coach, and is a lifelong educator.

Among Jim’s teaching and coaching stops is Archbishop Mitty High School, where Dan also coached.  With the Monarchs in the tournament this year, having Jim as our speaker is a perfect match.  The Dan Fitzgerald scholarship at Mitty is one of the benificiaries of The Fitz.

Jim was Mitty’s first baseball coach, then Dan followed as the basketball coach at Mitty from 1968 to 1971.

In addition to teaching and coaching at the high school level, Jim was a counselor, a principal, and worked in management of a couple of school districts.  Jim wrapped up his career as an adjunct professor in college.

Every year at The Fitz, the Fitzgerald’s have a family reunion, with 3 generations gathering to honor Dan.

Once again the banquet will be MC’d by long time Spokane broadcaster Bud Nameck.  Bud was hired by Dan Fitzgerald as the Sports Information Director at Gonzaga University.  A two time Sportscaster of the Year in the State of Washington, Bud is one of the founders of The Fitz!
